    — There are two dialects (or varieties) of the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ language spoken on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. The Thítȟuŋwaŋ in the area speak Lakȟótiyapi or Northern Lakota, whereas the Iȟáŋktȟuŋwaŋna speak Dakȟótiyapi or Western Dakota.
