Mid-Autumn Day is a traditional festival in China. Almost everyone likes to eat mooncakes on that day. Most families have a dinner together to celebrate the festival. A saying goes, “The moon in your hometown is almost always the brightest and roundest”. Many people who live far away from homes want to go back to have a family reunion. How happy it is to enjoy the moon cakes while watching the full moon with your family members.

Mid-Autumn Day is a traditional Chinese festival that falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. It is a time when family members gather together to celebrate and enjoy the beauty of the full moon.

On that day, I woke up early in the morning and could already feel the festive atmosphere in the air. My family and I prepared a variety of delicious food for the Mid-Autumn Day feast. We made mooncakes, which are traditional pastries filled with sweet bean paste or lotus seed paste. The mooncakes are round and symbolize completeness and reunion.

In the evening, we gathered in our backyard and set up a table with all the food. The moon was bright and round in the night sky, casting a soft glow on everything around us. We lit colorful lanterns and hung them up, adding a festive touch to the scene.

As we sat around the table, we shared stories, laughter, and delicious food. I enjoyed the mooncakes the most, savoring each bite of the sweet filling. We also drank tea and watched the moon, appreciating its beauty and feeling grateful for the moments of togetherness.

Mid-Autumn Day is not only a time for family reunion but also a time for expressing good wishes. We wrote our wishes on small pieces of paper and tied them to the branches of a nearby tree. It is believed that our wishes will come true when the tree leaves rustle in the wind.

As the night came to an end, we cleaned up the table and took a final look at the moon. It was a memorable and joyful Mid-Autumn Day, filled with love, happiness, and traditions.
