It was 7:15 on the morning of Feb,8.2000. I was walking along Park Road toward the east. A wooden oldly man came out of the park on the other side of the street. Then I saw a yellow car drive of the third street, and make a right turn into Park Road. The next moment the car hit the man while he was crossing the road. He fell with a cry. The car didn`t stop but drove off at a great speed heading west. I noticed the driver was a youngwoman,and the plate number was AC864. About two minutes later I stopped a passing car and took the old man tothe nearest hospital.

In Chinese culture, it is every child's duty to return their parents as they grow up. The children know their duty and they work hard to give parents a better life. As a child, I was grateful to my parents as they gave me all their love, so I made up my mind that I must earn a lot of money and then I could pay back my parents' money. But as I grew up, I realized that money was not that only way I could return my parents. What's more, my parents don't care about my money, and they just want to spend more time with me. When I grow up, I will move out and probably live far away from them. At that time, if I come home often, they will be happy. I think every parent just want care from their children. 

在中国文化中，小孩长大后回报父母是小孩的责任。孩子们也知道他们的职责，为了给父母更好的生活，他们努力工作。作为一个孩子，我很感激我的父母，因为他们给了我他们所有的爱，所以我下定决心，我一定要赚很多钱，然后可以偿还父母的钱。但是当我长大了，我意识到，钱并不是唯一可以回报父母的方式。而且，我的父母并不在意我的钱，他们只是想能够有更多的时间和我在一起。当我长大后，我可能会搬出去，住得很远。在那个时候，如果我经常回家，他们就会很高兴。我觉得每个父母都想从他们的孩子身上得到关心。
       

高中英语作文：对周五读报活动的看法

Dear fellow students,

Our monitor suggests that we have “Friday News Hour”. I think that it is a good idea.

Everyone knows that we are busy all day. Little do we know what is happening both at home and abroad, let alone what we can do for our country. By reading newspapers we can get more information about the world outside. So I think “Friday News Hour” can broaden our horizons and enrich our school life. What's more, it will help us improve our reading skills.

As for my suggestion, I think it's better to have it twice a week. As time is limited, we should select the most important news to read. I am sure everyone will benefit a lot from this activity.

我们的班长建议我们建立一个“星期五新闻时间”。我认为这是个好主意。
