古人云:天有三宝:日月星;地有三宝;水火风;人有三宝:精气神。
日月星
一、天有三宝;
这句话的雏形应该出自《黄帝内经》,最早远古时候人们观测天象的时候,星星还没有现在这许多名讳,古人因为看到太阳、月亮、星星会发光,便称其为“三光”!三者之中,日最明,月次之,星又次之。
这是因为在地球上肉眼观之,太阳和月亮都如银盘大小,而星星则太遥远,看起来很小,被分类在太阳和月亮之下。
可不要小看这样的分类,这暗含古人深藏的哲学,如老子《道德经》:道生一,一生二,二生三,三生万物;老子稍晚的《易传·系辞传》里则说:易有太极,是生两仪,两仪生四象,四象生八卦。
这两者之间,三即是四象,八卦即是万物也。“四象”者,掌管天际二十八宿星官者,“三”者,“三才也”,足见“三才”在古人概念中有多么重要。
古人以天、地、人为三才,因为只有人通达的智慧,能上达天地之间。
所谓天有三宝,日,即是两仪的太阳,月,即是两仪的太阴,星,指群星,即是能生万物的“三”。
水火风
二、地有三宝;
所谓地有三宝,水火风该怎么理解呢?
中国古人最早在西周年代诞生的《易经》里就有“五行”的概念,而印度直到战国时期才诞生了“四大”的概念,四大即地火水风,随着佛教东渐,这四大也就渐渐进入了中国人的视野,不过并未能动摇中国根本“五行”的基础。换而言之,地、火、水、风能构成小世界,但五行才能构成大世界。
水、火、风皆备,独缺地,也构不成小世界;而地之一大,自身蕴含“五行”的“土”与“金”,甚至“木”也仰靠“地”而生,故地仰仗三宝“水火风”来构成小世界运行的基础。水者,天下柔弱之物也,至柔又至刚,善能滋润;火者,天下至锐之物也,煞时而起煞时而灭,善能燃烧;风者,天下至刚之物也,至刚却又至柔。
这三者都需要“地”的“温厚”才能发展,人的性格也应如此。
精气神
三、人有三宝;
精气神,这是道教哲学,《周易·系辞上》:“精气为物,游魂为变,是故知鬼神之情状。”
本来只有道家哲学的精神或者精气,被道教吸收成为精气神。
所谓“精”者,泛指世间有形之物;气者,泛指无形却存在之物;神者,泛指精气之活力,也指神智、灵明,无形之物,无法证明其存在,但却不能否定其不存在。
精、气、神用现代的眼光来看,在人身上分别指肉体、气体、精神,是组成人生的关键,涉及道学、医学、哲学等领域。
精、气、神三者之间相互滋生、相互助长,不得不察。
